“I feel honored to write this testimonial from my heart about Karen Turner, who is an incredibly gifted, authentic, healing therapist and has been my most important professional contact when I needed guidance, clarification and tools to sort out myself and life’s curveballs.

After each session, I am constantly reminded how lucky I am to be supported by such a committed, caring, resourceful professional always bringing to our sessions her positive calming energy & years of training/experience. My constant takeaways after our time together is leaving with a fresh perspective and feeling of inner lightness, always able to move forward again with clarity. Karen’s practice includes being a part of her personal/professional dedication to meditation and mindfulness, both which have helped me to welcome peace, acceptance and joy into my daily life. I am grateful Karen has answered her true calling in life which inspires growth, solutions and strengths in others. An Integrative, Holistic Approach

Karen’s Holistic counselling and therapy approach considers the whole person—their psychology (cognitive-emotional-behavioural), Brain-body science (interrelationship of brain functions and emotional pain, physical illness, relationships) and spirituality if that is relevant to the individual.

Spirituality is understood as beliefs about the “bigger picture” of life, and the sense of being part of a larger whole system---creation, nature, the universe consciousness. For some people this might include religion or other spiritual ideas or philosophies about life.

Research evidence indicates that spirituality can be important in psychological healing, general personal wellbeing and improved life satisfaction.

Karen is open spiritually, and her counselling practice is inclusive and welcoming of all beliefs that her clients may hold, including those without such beliefs.

Karen works from an integrative, strengths based perspective to help people overcome personal challenges and life changes. She draws from her education, training and experience and interweaves aspects of these approaches:

  • Intuitive Therapy

  • Brief Solution Focused (BSFT)

  • Mindfulness & Compassion

  • Motivational & Change Theory

  • Cognitive Behavioural (CBT)

  • Relational Cultural

  • Somatic Approaches

  • EMDR

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB)
